You'll love your stay at this light filled cozy yet spacious two bedroom (and two full bath) cottage located in Ocean Beach, the largest town on Fire Island. A car free barrier island, a visit to Fire Island will feel like a real getaway. To get to the house, it's a short 6 minute walk from the ferry in Ocean Beach (which is arrived at from Bay Shore, Long Island). A discreet entry on a switchback ramp takes you to a spacious wraparound deck under a giant maple tree and surrounded by bamboo. On the deck you will have all the privacy you need as you move easily between the house and the deck (and to the large outdoor shower at the rear of the house). But you are still just a few blocks from town where you will find shopping, restaurants, and nightlife AND less than 2 blocks from the beach!
You enter the house off the deck in the main living room (Living Room 1) that has wraparound windows, a comfy couch, chairs and a television. From this room you can walk 2 steps up to the large primary bedroom with a spacious en suite bathroom. There is direct access from that bedroom to a sunny back area of the deck overlooking a big weeping willow tree. You also access the guest bedroom from the living room as well as the guest bathroom. The guest bathroom is also spacious, with a very large shower and cabinets for storage. There is a door for direct access from the guest bedroom into this bathroom.
The kitchen has bright white Corian countertops with stools to sit at and chat while someone is cooking.
In addition to the wraparound windows, there are ceiling fans and skylights in most rooms. So while the house has central AC (and heat) you might not need to use it except for during the hottest days.
